SIDE BY SIDE — Sooka Interior

Two abstract human figures sit quietly side by side. Their elongated patinated bronze bodies contrast with polished golden faces, hands and feet, creating a small object with an unusually strong presence. Made from recycled bronze in Indonesia, the sculpture measures just 15 centimetres high. Its restrained form and expressive material finish allow the piece to sit somewhere between decorative object and small-scale sculpture. Selected by MAUHK for its material contrast, human form and quiet composition. Part of MAUHK Selected Pieces: objects and artworks selected for form, character and visual impact.
